From a young age, Acrux was obsessed with beats.  From the age of 9, he began studying percussion and continued in concert band, jazz band, and marching band throughout grade school and high school.  He progressed from there to play in a wide variety of rock and hard rock bands influenced by drummers such as Danny Carey, Tim Alexander, Neil Peart, John Bonham and countless others.

In 1999 he attended his first rave in Chicago and found himself infatuated with house music.  He began his obsession with artists such as DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Sebastien Leger, DJ Nekbath, Olav Basoski, Mark Farina, and many local Chicago heroes.

Upon relocation to Detroit in 2013, he began exploring the world of techno.  Mesmerized by the soul and vibe of techno, he began delving into production in 2019 using Maschine Studio and Abelton.
